First contact?

I just heard that this instrumental, "Rain" by Exposure, was originally commissioned for the soundtrack of "Star Trek: First Contact", but didn't end up being used. Maybe it was supposed to play over the scenes that had "Magic Carpet Ride" or "Ooby Dooby" instead?

It's pretty.

Ah, and a version with lyrics:

Maybe there was a disco scene cut out of the original script? I kid I kid :-) I love Erasure and own just about every record they've put out.

As far as I've found, the song was intended to be the film's theme instead of Jerry Goldsmith's orchestral piece. I wonder if any fans have tried swapping out the music.

Have you ever heard the bonus LP single that came on the double album of ST III? (Also a track on the CD re-release.)

The disco version of "The Theme from ST III: The Search for Spock". (Yes, my Vulcan friend is dead but I must boogie!")

When it first came out, though, the disc failed to recommend 33rpm or 45rpm on its label, and it sounded weird at both speeds.
