A friend, Marianne, responding my post about the "Free Hugs" Youtube video, just sent me this new Youtube link. Somehow it totally slipped under my radar. I hadn't heard about it before, or maybe only vaguely... but I love it! In case it also slipped under your radar, here it is...
Fourteen months in the making, 42 countries, and a cast of thousands. And a supporting website.
"Matt is a 32-year-old deadbeat" from his About page says it all. He can't dance and the simulated monkey act he does looks totally ridiculous. At least the people he managed to dance along with had some more dynamic dance moves. But Matt is in my opinion a total JERK an I would live the rest of my life in total bliss if I never, ever see any of his videos again. PS I have the same reaction to Funniest Home videos. The thought of catching people in dangerous situations, potentially breaking bones, gouging an eye, falling off a cliff then laughing is not my idea of fun
Sorry you feel that way. I still think it's a charming video, and whimsical and original. I wish I'd thought of it. Hey, you don't have to be a good dancer to be a bit silly on the Internet.
Otherwise known as "Therin of Andor", Ian McLean has had an active association with "Star Trek" and science fiction media fandom in Australia since 1980. Before then he was an avid fan of the "Batman" TV series (60s) and the Australian TV classic, "Number 96" (70s).
